Child abuse is horrible. It breaks my heart to hear of some of the things children go through. Sure, we are trying to stop these incidents from occurring, but think about all of the kids that never get saved. It worries me. Why do bad things happen to innocent people?

I made these a long time ago. I was going through depression at the time and I started playing this very weird game. The game had people putting on weird items of clothing for special attacks. Anyways, so I started drawing outside and then came inside and converted them into graphics. It took me forever, but yeah.. I enjoyed it. :)

I have never actually shown anyone these.
<--just to show you how I started each one off.... :)

My day was too long..

I have nothing to say about it. It was a day. :)

I do have a question for you...
If your sock drawer has 6 black socks, 4 brown socks, 8 white socks, and 2 tan socks, how many socks would you have to pull out in the dark to be sure you had a matching pair?

Venus Envy

Due to a friend bringing my attention to a lot of lesbian movies and stories, I have felt compelled to read lesbian fiction. I went to Barnes-and-Noble in search of a lesbian book. I work for a Catholic school. So as you can imagine I would be in über amounts of trouble if I were to have gotten caught. I felt like I was committing a crime. I went to the Gay and Lesbian section conveniently located next to subcategories that would fall under cultural differences. I was SO nervous. There was a girl on the floor rearranging the books. She attempted to assist me. I would take the books she was suggesting, walk around to the corner of the store, read through them, and decide hmm nope not for me. She kept smiling every time I returned. I finally picked the books I wanted and was making my way to the register when my friend Sarah called out my name. I froze!!! I slowly turned around and had this insanely guilty look on my face. The conversation stammered a little like this:
Sarah: Amber! How are you?
Me: Uhh good... um... hi... uhhhh yeah.
Sarah: You okay? Hey, by the way this is my fiance... (she said his name but I did not catch it)
Me: Um gotta go!
Sarah: Amber are you sure you're okay?
Me: I was looking at stuff I shouldn't have been looking at. I've gotta go. *makes a b-line straight for the register*

Here is the sad thing... Sarah knows I am a lesbian. She knows. *hides face in shame* She probably now thinks I was looking at pron** or something. LOL Yep, you guessed it! I have not brought that day up to her.

ANYWAYS.. that was SOOO not the point of my very first entry. The book is called "Venus Envy" and it was not what I was expecting. I did not want a sex novel. That is what I have Lee for. So luckily it was not all about sex, sex, and sex. Again, nothing wrong with that. So yeah, the book was okay. It was slow. The chapters drove me insane. There was incorrect grammar usage AND there were several words that were misspelled. (Which, by the way, I am starting to see in a lot of books. Are authors and their editors just getting sloppy?) The last few chapters were my favorite. I wanted to post some quotes from the book because they really got me thinking.

"You know, it's funny, this whole lesbian stuff. Do you feel like a lesbian?"
Venus smiled. "No, I feel like a woman."
"Exactly. Me too. And we love women because they're lovable, because there's something in that person worth loving, and although I've held myself back from it, I still believe it."

"Blood makes you family; Fate makes you friends. I much prefer my friends."
(He did not mean that he did not like his family. I feel the need to explain the context of this, because he is insinuating that not everyone can be friends with their family. So yeah, it is not that he is picking friends over family. If your family is truly close to you then they can be classified as true friends.)

"Do you think gay people, those pepole who are totally gay, do you think they are more creative?" Frazier felt drowsy herself.
"I think if Michelangelo were straight, the Sistine Chapel would have been painted basic white with a roller." Venus's laughter floated out the window to dissolve into the song of the nightingale.

(Just so you know I typed her mistakes straight from the book. I did not make those mistakes. lol)

**pron [prò‡n]
1. obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like.
This is most commonly known as porn, but pron is much more fun to say. This word was given to us by Lee. Thank you Lee for your continual contribution to society.
